The MLI Ultra from Mastervolt is a premium battery for the harshest environments. With industry leading performance the MLI Ultra is ideal in any system large or small that is looking to store more power. Used world wide in recreational, commercial, and emergency applications the MLI Ultra is designed to exceed your expectations.

Class leading discharge amperage and unlimited paralleling ability makes these batteries ideal for inverter systems and replacing or supplementing a generator. Integrated battery monitoring and communication allows you to know exactly what is happening to your battery with no external shunts or BMS. The result is a time remaining metric you can trust. Built in communication works with both Masterbus and Czone/NMEA 2000 systems so monitoring and control is simple.

Check out our example systems that incorporate lithium batteries.

Additional Products Required: (Not Included)

MLI Ultras are required to be installed with an external safety disconnect relay. The relay is controlled from the battery but due to the large amperage capability of the battery must be mounted externally. For parallel applications 1 relay is required per battery, for series connections 1 relay is required per bank of series connected batteries. Compatible products are Blue Sea Systems ML-RBS PN: 7700 or MLI Ultra Connection Kit PN: 79007712.

Programming is required to integrate the MLI ultra into any system. To program, a USB Interface tool is required.

Ordering:

MLI Ultra batteries are intended to be part of an integrated system and are not designed for "drop in" applications. If you wish to purchase an MLI Ultra please call us to discuss the system prior to placing your order.

Pelagic Power Tip

When paralleling lithium batteries it is critical that the positive wires are identical lengths and the negative wires are identical length. The positive and negative do not need to match but all wires of the same polarity should match. It is recommended that you run only 1 wire to each terminal (positive and negative) and parallel at a bus bar instead of daisy chaining between terminals. This ensures secure connections and same length wires.

The reason matching wire lengths is important, is in lithium systems the amperages are commonly much higher than lead acid. Since electrons will take the path of least resistance a shorter wire will have more current run through it. Since the amperages are larger any imbalance is amplified. Over time, this imbalance reduces the life of the batteries and impacts their performance.

When properly installed and charged these batteries can last a long time. We know of customers still running strong on batteries over 10 years old.
