Mastervolt 44010250 ChargeMaster 12V 25A 3 Bank Battery Charger
Mastervolt 44010250 ChargeMaster 12V 25A 3 Bank Battery Charger
SKU:MVT44010250
When people think about battery systems they commonly envision large battery banks with big inverter/chargers. Those components are usually the core of the system, but in many systems there is also a need for a smaller battery charger to charge starting, generator, or thruster batteries. When we pick a smaller charger we still want all the charging technology built into a larger charger, with the ability to communicate to the other system components. The ChargeMaster 12V 25A 3 bank does just that.
Charge up to 3 batteries with temperature compensation, custom charge profiles, Masterbus communication, and a built in display. The ChargeMaster 12V 25A does all of that in a package that is only 5 inches wide, 9 inches tall, and weighs 4 pounds.
12V/25A - 3 Bank Vented Battery Charger
-
3-step+ charging
- Bulk - Provides constant current to charge the batteries to approximately 80%
- Absorption - Provides constant voltage to top off the batteries to 100%
- Pre-Float - Lowers voltage on each output as the individual output finishes absorption even if remaining batteries have not completed absorption
-
Float - After all batteries are full the charger moves to float which provides reduced constant voltage to maintain full batteries and provide power to loads
- Plus - 1 hour every 14 days the battery charger automatically transitions from Float to Absorption to keep the batteries fresh and prolong their life
- Priority charge directs power to the deepest discharged battery bank
- Global AC Input 90V-265V AC 50 or 60 Hz
- Out of the box charging for Flooded, AGM, Gel, and Li-Ion profiles
- Full output power rated for continuous use
- Can be programmed to act as a power supply
- Intuitive clear display for configuration and monitoring
- Remote battery temperature compensation - adjusts voltage based on battery temperature, prolongs life of batteries
- Direct connection to Masterbus network
- Completely customizable through Masterbus
- Recommended battery bank size 50-250Ah
- Includes pre-wired AC pigtail & ferruled DC wires

**This battery charger is supplied with pre-terminated DC wires that include boot lace ferrules. The Ferrule side is intended to be inserted into the charger and clamped down on. You will still need to install ring terminals on the other end for the appropriate size battery connection.
If wire runs are longer than the supplied DC wires it is recommended to purchase new wire of the appropriate length instead of extended the supplied wires.
The charger also comes with a stud for a battery case ground. This connection should be attached to the DC ground in the system (battery negative) with the same size wire as the battery charger DC negative connection.

Everyone knows that a battery charger keeps a battery charged. What most people don't think about is that any battery charger can do that, but a great battery charger prolongs the life of a battery. When you are spending a lot of money and time on a battery system you want those batteries to last as long as possible, and nothing interacts with expensive batteries more than the battery charger.
The ChargeMaster family of battery chargers helps prolong the life of the batteries through a 3-step plus charging profile. One of the main features of this extra stages is Pre-Float. This is a stage in-between Absorption and traditional Float. Since each battery can finish charging at a different time we don't want to subject full batteries to unnecessarily high voltages. So Pre-float lowers the voltage on each output individually as that bank completes absorption. Then when all banks are complete the charger moves into Float.
The plus step automatically reverts the charger back into Absorption 1 hour every 14 days. This matters because a battery sitting on float for months at a time can build up sulfates on the lead plates (like plaque on teeth). These sulphates can be mitigated by boosting voltage periodically, the plus state in this charger does that automatically.
Lastly, the ChargeMaster family can be a device added to a Masterbus network. This makes the charger an ideal choice for large Mastervolt systems where communication is critical but you just need a little bit of power to charge smaller batteries, like starting batteries.
