Masterbus cables connect between various Mastervolt devices. They allow communication and programming of all devices on the network so you can create a truly integrated system.

Most Masterbus compatible products come with 2 CAN ports for connecting cables in a string. The ends of the network need to be terminated with a terminating resistor. One Terminating resistor comes with every Masterbus compatible device.

Purchase the length of Masterbus cables you need to connect one Masterbus device to the next. Then keep adding Masterbus cable until you have connected all compatible products in the network.

To program a Masterbus network you will require a USB interface PN 77030100

Installation Details

Connect to the CAN ports of every Masterbus compatible product. Connection is intended to be a string so in a complete network there should never be any open ports. All ports should be connected by either a network cable or a terminating resistor.
Terminating resistors should only be on the begging and end of the network (2 max per network).

Pelagic Power Tip

A Masterbus network is powered by devices on the network. You will need 1 powering device for every 3 non-powering devices. Example powering devices are batteries, battery chargers, inverters, shunts, DC to DC chargers, etc.

When connecting a Masterbus network it is recommended to turn on dip switches 1 and 2 on all compatible Masterbus devices. This powers the network and confirms the device is ready to be programmed via Masteradjust.

To program a Masterbus network you will also need Masteradjust software installed on a PC computer. To connect the computer to the network you will require a USB interface (PN 77030100). See our USB interface product page to learn more and download the software.
