Mastervolt and CZone systems with more than 1 device require programming for proper operation. The primary way to program both system is through computer based software. In order to connect your computer to the system you will need a USB interface.

We use this tool on 100% of every system we work on and recommend it live on board the vessel or vehicle that has the system so anyone can log in at anytime. Don't get caught without this tool when you are halfway around the world.

Features:

  • Connects between computer & Mastervolt or CZone network
  • Compatible with Masteradjust software for Mastervolt systems
  • Compatible with CZone Config software for Czone/Mastervolt NMEA 200 systems

For CZone/NMEA 2000 systems a Mastervolt to CZone Drop Cable is also required.

Specifications

Compatible with Windows PC only

Includes:
USB interface
2M Masterbus Cat 5e cable
Masterbus terminating resistor
USB connection cable to USB A/B computer port

Installation Details

For Masterbus networks the USB interface must be connected into the network through a standard CAT5e connection. You can either place the interface in-line with other network devices with an ethernet connection on both sides, or place the interface at one end of the network with an ethernet connection in 1 port and the terminating resistor in the other. This requires at least 1 Masterbus powering device in order for the USB interface to work.

For Czone/Masterbus networks on NMEA 2000 you will also require a Mastervolt to CZone drop cable. This adapter cable would take the place of the included ethernet cable. The included Mastervolt terminating resistor is also not used when connecting to a CZone/NMEA 2000 network.

Pelagic Power Tip

The USB interface is the one device that is in our possession at all times. Every system we commission in the field, or even just in the lab, uses the USB interface.

Many people treat this tool as a portable device by programming a system then removing the USB interface and walking away. We recommend mounting the interface and leaving it permanently connected to the system. that way no matter where in the world the system is, someone can log in and configure it.

We also recommend after programming, you save the file (XML for Masterbust, zcf for CZone) to a computer. That way if you have questions you can email us the file and we can diagnose together without being connected live.
