All fuses and circuit breakers have an additional rating beyond just their trip amp rating. This additional rating is know as Amperage Interrupt Capacity (AIC).
Amperage Interrupt Capacity (AIC) is the maximum amperage rating that a fuse will safely disconnect during a short circuit event. The higher the number the larger the battery bank the fuse can be used to protect. The Class T fuse is rated at 20,000A AIC which is the highest rating we sell. Which is why Class T is ideal for lithium battery systems and inverters where large battery banks are common.
