The Blue Sea Systems ST-Blade Water-Resistant Fuse Block (5056) is a 4-circuit, IP66-rated block designed for wet environments. It features tin-plated copper buses, accepts ATO/ATC fuses, and includes a protective cover with spare fuse storage. It is ideal for marine or off-road use, handling up to 30A per circuit and 80A total (model 5056).

  • Water-Resistant: IP66 rating means it is protected against heavy seas and powerful water jets.
  • Design: Compact, 4-circuit design (4-12 circuits available in similar models) with single-side wire entry.
  • Terminals: Uses standard #8-32 screw terminals with captive star lock washers.
  • Safety: Includes an insulating cover that meets ABYC/USCG requirements and offers space for labeling.
  • Nesting: Allows for nesting with other ST-Blade water-resistant products to conserve space.

Specifications

Max Amperage: 80A per block
Max Voltage: 32V DC
Circuits: 4

Installation Details

Mounting: Secure the block to a flat surface using standard 1/4" (6mm) screws. Avoid over-tightening to prevent cracking the composite base.
Input Wiring (Main Feed): Use a heavy-gauge wire—typically 8 AWG to 4 AWG—for the positive input stud depending on your total expected load.
Load Wiring (Branch Circuits): Attach your individual accessory wires to the side screw terminals using 16 AWG to 10 AWG wire. Use insulated #8 ring or locking fork terminals for solid connections.
Maintaining the IP66 Rating: The unit comes with rubberized wire plugs. If you are using fewer than the max available circuits, you must insert the provided dummy plugs into the unused ports to keep water and dust out.

Pelagic Power Tip

Always install a heavy-duty master inline fuse or circuit breaker on the main positive feed cable, positioned as close to the battery terminal as possible (ideally within 7 to 12 inches).

Preventing Fires: If the heavy 4 AWG or 8 AWG main wire feeding your block ever chafes against metal and shorts out, the small branch fuses on the ST-Blade block will not blow because the short is before them.
How to size it: If you expect the combined continuous draw of your accessories to be 50A, use a 60A or 70A master fuse/breaker at the battery. This protects the main feeder cable while the ST-Blade block independently protects your smaller electronics.
