SolarMaax 200GPD (8GPH) Water Maker 12V Compact
SolarMaax 200GPD (8GPH) Water Maker 12V Compact
SKU:ELCWM-200GPD-Tropic-Compact-12V-1
The SolarMaax 200GPD is an energy recovery water maker. The enhanced Clark Pump creates pressure up to 1000 PSI that pushes saltwater into a specialized RO membrane. The salt and other contaminates are too large to fit through the membrane and only fresh water can exit. The remaining pressurized saltwater is then pushed back into the pump and mechanically triggers the reversing valve to pump new water through the membrane. This cycle continues using hydraulic power which dramatically reduces the electrical draw. This is ideal for any boater who wants clean, fresh, potable water with a low current draw.

Enhanced Clark Pump Differences:
The SolarMaax utilizes an exclusive Enhanced Clark Pump only available on the SolarMaax. This new pump is an evolution from the standard Clark Pump found by other manufacturers in the market.
- Titanium components in reversing gear
- Titanium swiveling connectors for all high pressure lines
- Through bolted tie rods provide industry leading stability and longevity
- Long stroke length in a smaller size decreases wear on the piston and seals
- 1 high pressure seal on the piston rod, dramatically reduces drag, increasing flow and reducing wear points
- upgrading reversing valve design reduces noise
Titanium vs Stainless Steel:
The marine industry is used to stainless steel being considered the premium metal. While stainless steel is great in many applications one application where it falls short is being constantly submerged in highly concentrated salt water, like in a water maker. Titanium's main benefit over stainless steel is it will not pit or have crevice corrosion. by using titanium on high pressure fittings and inside the reversing valve it eliminates the potential for leaks. Since these water makes operate from 600 to 1000 PSI a leak will compromise the entire system. Titanium virtually eliminates this problem creating a more reliable, long lasting water maker.

Installation Details
Installation Details
The SolarMaax comes with nearly everything needed to complete the install. The following components are not included and must be supplied to complete the install:
Through hull and ball valve (seacock)
Hose from ball valve to sea strainer
Wire for electrical connections
Circuit breaker/fuse for electrical connections
Fitting/Tee for connecting into fresh water tank
Water Makers are modular products that are connected by hoses. This is a benefit because large components can be placed where there is room and small hoses can run to areas where space is more of a premium.
The salt filtering RO membrane ships in a vacuum sealed bag and will need to be installed in the enhanced Clark Pump. The reason this isn't installed in the factory is because it can dry out and become inoperable. We recommend installing the membrane last and running the pump within 1 day of membrane installation. Salt or fresh water is fine touching the membrane, you just don't want it dry for any length of time.
The water maker ships in 3 boxes:
Enhanced Clark Pump Box: 30” x 12” x 12” - 36lbs
Feed Pump & Hose Box: 18” x 18” x 16” – 30lbs
Control Panel & Fittings Box: 12” x 12” x 14” – 10lbs
Pelagic Power Tip
Pelagic Power Tip
Using a dedicated through hull just for the water maker is recommended. Air is the enemy of the Clark Pump and by only having one device connected to the through hull will reduce air and provide the feed water needed for the water maker to work optimally.
