Installation Details

Preparation and Location:
Choose a mounting location as close to the power source (battery) as possible to minimize unprotected cable length.
The unit is surface-mounted using #10 (5mm) screws.
Wiring Configuration (Common Source):
The 5196 model features a common bus bar. The main input cable connects to one of the main studs, powering all three fuse positions.
Connect the individual load cables (inverter, etc.) to the remaining studs, with a fuse placed between the bus bar and each load terminal.
Terminals can be oriented to allow all wires to exit from a single side to fit in tight spaces.
Fuse Installation:
Place the MRBF fuse onto the stud.
Stack terminals if necessary, ensuring proper sequence.
Secure with the provided stainless steel flange nuts.
Crucial: Use a wrench or socket to tighten to 100 in-lb (11.3 Nm).
Note: Do not overtighten, but ensure it is secure to prevent overheating.
Cover and Final Safety Checks:
Install the included clip-on insulating cover.
The cover is required to meet ABYC/USCG insulation standards.
Ensure the cover is securely latched to maintain ignition protection.
Label the circuits using the label recesses on the cover.

Pelagic Power Tip

Circuit Protection Goal: Limit the maximum current in the circuit to 80% of the fuse rating.
Clearance: The M8 studs allow for the stacking of multiple ring terminals, but ensure the total height does not prevent the cover from closing.
Maintenance: Regularly inspect the clear window on MRBF fuses for blown-fuse indication
