If you've ever wanted to execute a command or send a signal when any event in your Mastervolt system occurs, the Multi Purpose Output Contactor (MPOC) is the the way to go. The MPOC is a Masterbus controlled relay, and has unlimited use in any Mastervolt communicating system. The most common use is switching on and off non-Mastervolt Chargers and regulators for Mastervolt stop charge events.

Features:

  • Receive Masterbus inputs or events which control the MPOC relay, allowing you to control power and signals to other devices
  • Become the source of events to other Masterbus communicating devices in your system, based on the state of your relay or input
  • Extends your existing Mastervolt communication to your existing systems for little overhead and no swap outs
  • Compatible with MasterAdjust software for Mastervolt system

You will need a Mastervolt & CZone USB Interface Programming Tool to program your MPOC into your system.

Requires event programming in Masteradjust.

MasterAdjust's events programming language can be a bit confusing, so here is how we like to translate:

Source: What signal from the source device will trigger the event?
Target: What device in the network do you want to be affected because of the source?
Command: What possible command in the target device do you want to affect
Copy= Execute (Do this)
Copy Invert = Do the opposite of this, if currently on this state/function

Requires Mastervolt & CZone USB Interface Programming Tool to program

Pelagic Power Tip

The MPOC is a versatile tool that allows for outputs, loads, and signals to be sent outside of Masterbus communication. This introduces an infinite amount of applications, especially for systems without digital switching or that you want isolated from digital switching.

Some of these applications are explained in the screenshots shown in the images, like powering a cooling system when a battery gets to a certain temperature, or triggering your generator to start at a certain battery SOC without needing CZone digital switching integration.

One application not mentioned in the diagrams is for use in 3rd party chargers, alternator regulators or solar charge controllers. If your Mastervolt batteries are having a stop charge event, or battery safety event, charge sources outside the Masterbus system need to be turned off. The MPOC can seamlessly integrate into your system, simply opening or closing a separate switch between your regulators and chargers, or sending a pulse signal to alternators. This communication ensures no back feed of power into your alternators/solar chargers and prevents charging while the battery is imbalanced or its simply unsafe to charge.

Another application use is if you want loads to be automatically shut off at a certain battery state of charge to save power (load shedding). While you are sleeping or off the boat, this can stop you from draining your batteries on unnecessary outputs.
