Installation Details
Installation Details
Mounting and Orientation: The COI DIN Mount PCA Kit allows for flexible mounting, but ensures the 8x 50A relays are securely positioned. It is designed to be mounted on standard DIN rail, making it ideal for installations in custom enclosures, near the battery, or in areas where space is limited.
Wiring Considerations: The kit usually comes with 600mm pre-fitted tails, reducing the need for extensive crimping on site. Ensure these tails are properly supported and managed for cable strain, especially in high-vibration marine or vehicle environments.
System Configuration: The COI integrates directly into the NMEA 2000 network for monitoring and control. Use a USB to CAN interface to write the configuration to the network.
Circuit Monitoring: The COI features current monitoring on each channel. This allows for detailed diagnostics and monitoring via CZone displays or networked multi-function displays (MFDs).
4-20mA Sensor Support: The new generation COI modules support 4-20mA sensor input directly, eliminating the need for external resistors for many sensor types (e.g., fluid levels, pressure).
Maintenance Bypass: For DC modules with mechanical fuses (though the COI is largely solid-state), or if using similar modules in the system, know how to move fuses to the 'Bypass' position in case of failure.
Pelagic Power Tip
