Core Functionality
The MI provides comprehensive oversight of both AC and DC systems:
  • DC Monitoring: Tracks up to 3 voltage inputs and 2 current inputs. It calculates battery state-of-charge as both a percentage and remaining ampere-hours, with a high resolution of 0.1 A for current metering.
  • AC Monitoring: Monitors up to 3 voltage inputs and 2 current inputs. It provides advanced calculations for True RMS power and kWatts.
  • System Intelligence: Users can define high and low alarm levels for every input. Because it integrates with the wider CZone system, it can be configured to trigger automated actions, such as shedding non-essential loads if a battery drops too low.
Physical & Technical Details
  • Protection: Rated IPX5 for water ingress protection, making it suitable for marine and RV environments.
  • Dimensions: Approximately 156 x 100 x 42 mm (6.1 x 3.9 x 1.7 inches).
  • Weight: Roughly 281g (approx. 10 oz).
  • Package Contents: This specific part number (80-911-0005-00) includes the necessary Seal and Plug for installation.

Installation Details

Mounting Guidelines
Orientation: The module must be mounted vertically with the cables exiting downwards to prevent water ingress.
Environmental Protection: Ensure all seals, cable glands, and blanking plugs are fitted in any unused positions to maintain its IPX5 rating.
2. DC Wiring (8-Way Connector)
All DC connections are handled through the 8-way connector
Voltage Monitoring: Connect voltage inputs from battery banks to the Meter Interface (MI). Each input must be fused at the source with a 1A fuse.
Input 3: Dedicated as a voltage meter only.
Current/Amperage: Connect current inputs from your shunts.
Note: Current Input 1 must be paired with Voltage Input 1, and Current Input 2 with Voltage Input 2 for accurate power calculations.
Ground: Connect the DC negative to Input 8 to serve as a ground reference.
Network Connection
Connect an NMEA 2000 drop cable from the MI to your NMEA 2000 backbone.
Ensure the backbone is properly terminated and powered by a 12V source.
4. Initial Power-Up & Configuration
Check LEDs: Upon powering the NMEA 2000 network, the Power indicator should be solid green, and the Network LED may flash to indicate data transmission.
Software Setup: You must use the CZone Configuration Tool on a PC to calibrate inputs and define alarm levels. The module will not function correctly until a configuration file is written to it.

Pelagic Power Tip

If you ever need to replace the module, you don't necessarily need to manually reprogram it from scratch.
The Trick: Every CZone module stores a backup of the system’s configuration file.
Action: When installing a replacement, simply set the DIP switches on the new unit to match the exact physical positions of the old one before plugging it into the NMEA 2000 network.
Result: The new module will automatically "handshake" with the other modules on the network, recognize its assigned identity, and download the correct configuration file onto itself.
