The Ancor 270108 is a premium NMEA 2000 90° Elbow Connector designed for marine electronics networks. It allows for clean cable routing in tight spaces, such as behind instrument panels or within narrow bulkheads, by changing the direction of a cable by 90 degrees. This prevents sharp bends, reducing strain on the cables and minimizing the risk of performance loss or connection failure.
Built to rigorous marine-grade standards, this connector is fully NMEA 2000 approved and features universal compatibility, allowing it to seamlessly connect with backbone or drop cables from various manufacturers. It includes standard NMEA 2000 color coding for easy identification during installation, ensuring a reliable, waterproof, and plug-and-play setup for boat navigation and communication systems.

Installation Details

• Identify the Placement: Locate the tight bend or corner in your NMEA 2000 backbone or drop cable routing where the 90-degree turn is needed.
• Align the Connectors: Match the male or female end of the elbow connector with the corresponding female or male end of your existing NMEA 2000 cable or T-connector.
• Check the Keyways: Look inside the connectors to align the internal keyway (the small slot and tab). This ensures the pins line up correctly and prevents damage.
• Push and Thread: Push the connectors straight together gently. Do not force them.
• Hand-Tighten Only: Thread the metal locking collar onto the mating connector. Turn it clockwise until it is firmly hand-tight. Do not use tools like pliers, as over-tightening can crack the housing or destroy the waterproof O-ring seal.
• Secure the Cables: Use marine-grade cable ties to secure the adjacent cables to a bulkhead or support structure. This ensures that the weight of the cables does not pull on the elbow connector over time.
